You broaden my path beneath me, so that my ankles do not turn. Psalm 18:36 NIV
* *
We all have a path to walk. If we are in tune with God, the path we're on is exactly where the Lord wants us. But sometimes, staying on target isn't as easy as it seems.
You feel like you're surrounded by bad choices, that even the slightest turn could take you on the wrong path. It's like walking a tightrope. One turn of the ankle, and you're not only off track, but you're free-falling to the hard ground.
But that is not the way it's meant to be. God will "broaden my path" so I don't have to keep my eyes on my feet - instead, I'll keep my eyes straight ahead on my goal - or straight up on the One who is leading the way.
If I'm on that tightrope, it feels like a balance beam. The balance beam is a 2x4. And the 2x4? Solid ground. My steps can be sure, because He is in control, and He's made my path wider.
