"If you write FOR a particular market or FOR a particular editor you will often miss the mark. But if you write because your fingers have danced across the keyboard, because a character has tapped you on the shoulder, because a story has settled in your heart, then even if you never sell it you have done the work you were meant to do. And sometime, dear readers, real magic happens." Jane Yolen

Not Lounging About, But...

I AM away from the computer today on my monthly tech fast. But I will NOT be sitting around twiddling my thumbs.

Not only do my kids start back to school today, but it's the first session of my church's ladies' Bible study for the fall. We're doing a Juanita Purcell study about contentment (and BOY do I need it!). AND, my house is a mess. Hopefully, by the time I'm back, it will be at least A BIT less so. (And..P is for pretty busy - be back for the next letter!)

Enjoy your day - and I'll see you Wednesday!

Riding God's Grace Over Rough Roads

  1. Oh, to new beginnings! I love the return of school routine and group study... and the old routine of a messy house! Enjoy this start, Joanne, and may this new year of education serve all of you well as you grow and mature in your faith and in your love for one another.

  2. My house groans for a bath! lol My kids have been in school since the first week of August. Ick!

    See you Wednesday! :)

  3. Oh, Joanne...I remember when the kids were young and that first day back to school, I was sure if I listened real close, I'd hear a collective sigh all around the neighborhood. We'd all walk the kids to school, walk back to our homes and face the mayhem from the summer. Kind of bitter-sweet, really, but I'm so glad you're starting it off with a new Ladies Bible Study season - ours begins today, as well. Take care and re-charge those batteries :)

  4. I try to do a tech fast on Sundays. I need it just to rest my brain!

  5. Hope you had a fantastic day, Jo!

Thanks for stopping by. I would love to hear your thoughts - please share them!
