“The difference between the almost right word and the right word is really a large matter. ’tis the difference between the lightning bug and the lightning.” Mark Twain

Did You Know That...

My grandfather was a cantor?

I was born and raised in Los Angeles?

I grew up in a Jewish home and was Bat Miztvahed at age 13?

I dated a Filipino Catholic for three years?

The beginning of my faith journey was a newspaper reporter assignment?

Yes, all those facts are true, and are just a part of my journey toward Christ. My dear friend Christy McGraw has an occasional feature at her blog Critty Joy called "Journey With," and she has graciously allowed me to share my story there today. Would love to have you stop by there and hear some more facts about me you may (or may not) know. And check out her blog too - it's a delight.

  2. You had me crying. The love of Christ never fails to amaze me and His saving power and how He works to bring the lost to Him.

I was raised in an Amish home but did not find my Saviour until a few years ago.

Thanks for sharing your story. It has blessed me this morning.

  6. Dear Joanne...After meeting you at the Faithwriter's conference in 09 and following you on Faithwriters and Facebook...I did not know of this part of your testimony. This is such a great story. God's Word and the moving of the Holy Spirit drew you to Him ...for a purpose as we see lived out today. I am thankful to know you and for your encouraging words. Coleene VanTilburg.

  7. Joanne,

That was wonderful! I always enjoy reading your stories, and this testimony went right to my heart. I love the way you saw the cross in Isaiah. I think one of the most wonderful thing about the Bible is the way you can see Jesus throughout.

Thanks for sharing. Your prompt for reading was a great hook as well. I had to go read it! :)
