"If you write FOR a particular market or FOR a particular editor you will often miss the mark. But if you write because your fingers have danced across the keyboard, because a character has tapped you on the shoulder, because a story has settled in your heart, then even if you never sell it you have done the work you were meant to do. And sometime, dear readers, real magic happens." Jane Yolen

I'm home!!

(actually, I have been for two days, but that's beside the point, isn't it?)

It really was a WONDERFUL trip, full of silliness and learning and family and hugs and excitement. Oh, and HEAT! My, oh my. The HEAT. Mid 90's most every day. And HUMID. And we were OUTSIDE most of the time. (My smart - and exceptionally heat-sensitive - husband stayed in the shade and in ACed areas as much as he could, but there's only so much time you can spend in places like that if you wanna actually ENJOY DisneyWorld et. al.

Oh, and for those of you curious - I did, in fact, survive without my laptop. In fact, I didn't even miss it. Doesn't mean it hasn't reattached itself to my fingertips, but still ;)

Oh - and I lost my cell phone. At the Magic Kingdom about halfway through our trip. (I hope Mickey is enjoying it) Now THAT I missed, though not as much as I would have thought (didn't hurt that I could use my hubby's though LOL). Almost lost my car/house keys, too. But that's a story for another day (maybe.).

Trying to get back into the groove of my life, and possibly work out a way to get some NONcomputer things done occasionally (you know - like cleaning the house? uuuuggghhh). I have learned that this thing needs to be lowered a bit on the priority list. Will letcha know what God and I come up with...

Thanks for reading - and it IS good to be back. Truly.

  5. So glad you had a good time overall. I grew up only about 90 minutes from Disney World, so I know all about the heat and humidity in the area. Ugh. I don't miss it a bit!
